Adding Player 2 to Your Credit Card Game

Having gotten the itch, I dived deep into the miles and points game, learning as much as I could, spending hours upon hours watching youtube videos on how people were collecting miles and points using their credit cards.
I couldn't believe I had been missing out on this game for all these years!
Then of course I came across how I could really increase my points, adding a player 2, which means, adding another person in your household whom could also contribute to collecting miles and points.
My Player 2 then was the obvious choice, my wife, Ashley!

This was huge, as it would literally double the points we could collect through spending, and through welcome bonuses for the credit cards she could also apply for.
To start, we decided to go straight for the big gun, the Canadian American Express Platinum card!
And she was approved!
American Express will instantly approve your application upon applying for a credit card online.
It's so nerve racking when you click the submit button after filling out the application, as it goes to a page where it tells you that it is reviewing your application and will have a decision soon. It usually takes about 10 seconds before either accepting or declining the application, but feels so much longer.
I wasn't sure if she would be approved as her income is on the low side, however, when filling out the application they want your household income, so this must play a factor in whether it accepts or declines.
The other great thing about having a player 2 is you can only apply for so many credit cards in a period of time.
American express states that you can only apply for 2 credit cards in a 90 day period. By having a player 2, well you can technically apply for 4 credit cards in a 90 day span!
Only when I began my credit card points game did I ever apply for 2 American Express credit cards within the 90 days.
I now wait about 100 days from the last credit card I applied for before applying for a new one, just to be safe, and to not have too many inquiries on my credit history, which does affect your credit score, but not by that much.
Now that we added a Player 2, tracking everything becomes very important and a spreadsheet is definitely in order to track all the credit cards you have and you will be getting.
In fact, here's our spreadsheet after 1 year:

I would highly recommend you create a spreadsheet to track everythign right away. Their are a bunch online you can download too, but I'm old school and like using Excel, so haven't tried many of the ones you can download.
Also, you can add more players to the game too. You'll read about people adding other family members not even in their own household; their parents, sister, brother, etc. Then they pool all the points together.
So many opportunities to grow your miles and points, man love this game!
